Alfonso Fratteggiani Bianchi

Alfonso Fratteggiani Bianchi is an esteemed Umbrian artist who paints powerful monochromes that leave a lasting impression, applying a pure, single-color pigment directly to a slab of Italian sandstone using only his fingers. This particular sandstone, called pietra serena, is noted for its porous properties and allows the artist to work without the use of a binder.
The artist's works can be found in numerous private and public collections throughout the world, such as the Panza di Biumo Collection in Varese, Lombardy, at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York, (USA), at the SMoCA, Scottsdale, AZ (USA), at the Museum of Fine Arts di Santa Fe (USA) and at the Palazzo Spada of Rome (Italy). In 2024, the Camilla Grimaldy gallery held a solo exhibition of Alfonso's latest works.
