María Ángeles Vila Tortosa
Maria Angeles Vila Tortosa was born in Valencia 1978 and now lives and works between Valencia and Rome. Graduated in Fine Arts and PhD courses in Engraving at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In her work she re-elaborates some specific themes related to the female world such as domestic life, family affections, motherhood and care. The artist's preferred expressive medium is engraving, an ancient technique with which to talk about feminism and gender stereotypes. The engravings on paper in soft pastel colors tell the microcosm of the artist and are transformed into floors, books, light boxes and wooden boxes in order to create small portable sets or large three-dimensional installations. Since 2004 he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Spain and Italy in private and public spaces such as Espai d 'art in Gandia (Valencia), Museo del Tossal in Valencia, Museo Arqueològico di Enguera (Valencia), Instituto Cervantes in Rome, Casa Museo Mario Praz, L 'escorxador Center de Cultura Contemporànea of Elche (Alicante), Palazzo delle Esposizioni de Rome, International Mimmo Festival of Sueca (Valencia), Ric Festival of Rieti, International BNL of Italy, Bilotti Museum, and AlbumArte among many.
